UTEP RB Buckram suffers knee injury

09/02/2010 - El Paso, TX (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - Texas El-Paso senior running back Donald Buckram reportedly hurt his left knee during practice on Wednesday.

Several reports indicate Buckram was carted off the field and that the results of an MRI would be made available on Thursday. It's not known if he'll be available for the season-opener on Saturday against Arkansas-Pine Bluff.

Buckram is the first Miner ever to make the preseason watch list for the Walter Camp Football Foundation Player of the Year Award. He averaged 132.8 yards per game last season. With 2,082 career rushing yards, Buckram has an outside chance at eclipsing John Harvey's school record of 3,576 yards. He rushed for 1,594 yards and 18 TDs last season. Buckram also had 30 receptions for 453 yards and three scores.
